Salman Khan is consumed by an inexplicable urge to sport a slimmer waist and a fitter body. It's back to good ole times, it seems. This was quite evident as the actor hit the gym with a vengeance while filming for Boney Kapoor's production, Wanted in Chennai. So much so, that he was working out for four-and-a-half hours every day. Needless to say, his personal cook Zaffar was tossing up rich-in-protein meals for the master. And the results are here for all to see: Salman's waistline has reduced by 5 inches, and that too in just a matter of 25 days.
So what prompted the actor to take his fitness and diet regiment so seriously? Manish Arwilkar, who has been training the actor for eight years now, explains: “Salman bhai felt the need to have a slimmer waist and a fitter body for Wanted. His waist size had become 36-37 inches. But after the rigorous training his waist size is 32 inches.”
We hear the actor was shooting significant action sequences in Chennai, and naturally, wanted to flaunt his body. He used to do 1000 sit ups and 1000 leg raises on the sets before giving a shot, say unit members. During breaks, he will engage himself on treadmill followed by some cycling. A crew member further adds, “He worked extremely hard on his body during our Chennai schedule. He worked out twice a day without fail.”
The actor's personal trainer Manish was also keeping a close watch on his meals. Salman thrived on 30 egg-whites, steamed vegetables, salmon, pomfret and chicken, and continues to do so. “Carbohydrates are a complete no-no. He only eats steamed and baked food. His diet comprises proteins like egg whites, fish and chicken,” says Manish.
